Plymouth Morris Men in Jersey - May 2007
Plymouth Morris are a non-commercial heritage organisation. We are members of the Morris Ring and perform mostly Cotswold traditions but also dances from Plymouth, including the use of 19th century naval-pattern cutlasses! In 2010 we celebrated our 40th Anniversary year and a new dance was devised to commemorate the occasion. 'Hearts of Oak' is a cutlass dance for 8 persons.
2020 marks our 50th Anniversary Year and another cutlass dance has been devised for the occasion. 'Mayflower Remembered' also pays tribute to the 400th Anniversary of the Mayflower sailing from Plymouth in 1620.
We are now open to male and female dancers and musicians and everyone is welcome to come and give Morris a try. We are holding a series of workshops on Wednesday nights during the winter, starting on 28th September, at
St Budeaux Church Hall, The Green, Higher St Budeaux, PL5 2HN, from 7.30pm until 9.30pm, until the end of April.

From May 1st we have a summer programme. After dancing outside local pubs on a Wednesday evening we move inside and have a music and song session until we are locked out!

We would be pleased to see any prospective new members at any time. Drop in or come and speak to us at one of our events! You can also contact us by clicking on the relevant link at the top of the page.
